You should be able to find a win 7 premium download, fairly easy. Then drop it in the thumb drive and boot from there

Not quite. It would have to be the ISO, then be mounted correctly to the drive. Just placing it there wouldn't work.

You should be able to. Issue is that Microsoft no longer provide the Windows 7 ISO (why, Microsoft?). If you can find a reputable torrent, or trusted site with the download, you can create the install media.

can it be ANY ISO ? cause I know plenty on a certain torrent site (Kick ass torrents) but most are cracked / "fixed" and I need a legit copy to upgrade to W10 in a few months.

I haven't been able to find a legit copy of a legal CD. -.-

The ISO (disc image) isn't the legal part of it. Microsoft provides the 8.1 ISO for free, and used to with Windows 7. The key is the legal part.

They do, you just need to enter your license key first now.

Hmmm, weird. Maybe check the brand website if they don't offer windows ISOs? Otherwise you might have to search for via less reputable sources.

It's not illegal to download a windows ISO if you don't crack it IIRC, so don't let that stop you.

I could give you the link to a W7 Professional 64bit. Are you able to modify it yourself, so you can install any version you want with it?

Also i won't post that link publicly, because its on a private server. And i would only PM you the file if you won't share it ever.

Also I'm about 95% sure, that you have to activate the OEM licence via telephone.

EDIT: I totaly forgot to tell you that its the german iso, so you have to install the english language pack if you want it on english. ;)
