Hey guys... I realised that headsets sounds really terrible compared to my m40x so i have been hanging them around my neck for it's mic. Should i continue to use the headset for it's mic or sell it and get a cheap usb mic? :o

Ps: im using a g430

it really depends on what you want out of it.

if your just using the headset around your neck and not even using the ear pieces then get rid of them and find a better solution for you.

you can pick up a small mic that you can either wear on your shirt or i believe i have seen ones you can attach to some headphones, they might be of better use to you?

If you're on a budget and can spend $200 + tax&shipping then get these two items.

Make sure you plug both the headset and the mic into the back of your computer (if it's a desktop) for optimal sound without interference.

Also, I see that your location is from Singapore so $200 equals S$270.65

So should i keep my headset as a mic?

So should i keep my headset as a mic?

depends on the quality of what you want and how much your willing to spend

Like if you really do like the sound from your dedicated headphone could always just get something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-5M-Collar-Bar-Microphone-Loudspeakers-Mic-Mini-Lapel-Headsets-For-Teaching-Use-/171580603685?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item27f3003d25

or even just a cable with the mic inside it if your not overly concerned with mic quality

i cant seem to find the headst mic attachment where it looks like the proper headset mic but can attach to the side of your headphones... but thats also another solution.

I have question, do you have your headsets plugged into the back of your computer? The pink plug for the g430's mic, and the green for the m40x sound? Doing this can drastically help the sound quality of both the mic and sound.

The mic quality is actually really great according to my friends on skype! It's plugged into my pc via usb (g430 comes with a usb dongle)

Hmmmmm i guess I'll probably just stick to wearing my headphones while having my headset around my neck

Not too sure about the quality of it.

But it's only 15 bucks so why not try, eh?

I dumped way too much money into my audio setup (AT2020+Xenyx302+Foldable boom) but I don't regret it at all (I use it every day, your results may vary).

I would look at Linus' mic review videos that he has done recently if that 15 dollar one doesn't work out for you.

Blue snowball sounds too open and catches too much background noise imo.

If you are considering anything other than the 15 dollar mic thing there, i would recommend this

I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere, but it's 1 am and I work tomorrow so I'm not going to do that for you :P

I got my XLR version for $90 bucks on a sale, so i'm really really happy with that.
