Hello,

So a couple of hours ago I installed this stereo, and was using it, and all of a sudden a pink line appeared across the screen. This line is always there, unless the color is white, then you cant see it anymore. Is there any way to fix this or am I going to have to reverse a day of work to warranty it?

Thanks!

Had this happen to a TV of mine, In some cases its fixable, but if you cant find a method of a quick fix then you might need to RMA.

How would you recommend to try to fix it?

If it is a line of stuck pixels theres a few little techniques on here: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor

But maybe just attempt the safer ones, and if no avail then send it back, as if you damage it further they might not fix it and claim you damaged it.

I also read that driving on a rough road might fix it, might cause the crystal to shift and maybe fix it.

Tried that, didn't work that well. After some work I discovered it must be a broken memory for the screen (Don't know technical term), for if there is white where the link is you can see white, and not the purple line, but that doesn't work for any other color.

Sucks man. Might be annoying but you might just have to send back to manufacturer.

probably going to have to contact clarion. After some research, I've narrowed it down to a stuck memory chip. Normally in a monitor a couple hard resets will fault the monitor into fixing itself. I'm trying to figure out how to do this in my car, without either freaking out the computer or setting off the airbags, or damaging something internally, since cars aren't designed to deal with sudden power loss. I thought about pulling out the fuse, but its the same fuse that the car computer runs on, since I just spliced an existing harness (I'm lazy, deal with it) . This may be something that falls outside of the LTT forum's help abilities, and I may need to take it to a more car related forum. Thanks for any suggestions you may have!
