So I have done some looking around and I think I have decided on the way I am going to go with my final build. I am totally up for advice or whatnot, but for a 900 dollar budget I think this would be a pretty good build.

CPU is 80 because I found someone in town with it for sale.

Optical drive is null because I have one I can use

Anything else I'm up to advice

I'm only getting the SSD for now and saving for a 3TB HDD later on, if that's what you mean. I planned for the larger SSD. I just have 900 as of the end of this week. I will get a HDD in a couple of weeks, I don't need it immediately.

But I'll check.

Another question, where will you be buying these parts from?

The ones that you won't be buying from somebody in your neighborhood? Newegg? Amazon? I'm not familiar with the regional shipping of all of the different vendors.

I'm going to be buying most of these parts, if not all of them, from DirectCanada.ca which is pretty cheap and will ship anywhere in Canada for free. Which is a big bonus. I'm trying to look around for some deals (hence the CPU for 80) I have a lead on the GPU for 140 instead of 200, but we'll see.

Alright, correct me if I'm wrong, but $900 CAD is around $725 USD, correct?

I'M BAD AT CONVERSIONS!

Here you go!

  1. Dont go with the SSDNow from Kingston since it has a lot of issues, instead I got you a better SSD with a similar price point at the same capacity.
  2. I included a CPU cooler since that 6300 CPU draws a lot of power which means it will generate a lot of heat, this cooler will give the CPU a long and happy life.
  3. I also got you RAM that wont interfere with the CPU cooler and with a bonus that it matches the black color scheme.
  4. You can save so much on your OS by buying it from reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap/ . Win 7 Home Premium only costs 15 USD = 19 CAD.
  5. Using the savings from the OS, I upgraded the GPU to a 290.
  6. All parts are from DirectCanada. :)

Hope I was able to help ^_^

I have heard some not so great things about G-Skill ram, also my ram was the same price.

Kingston SSD isn't reliable? How so? I've heard good things from them.

Also, how does the Ram interfere with the cooler?

  1. I trust G.Skill, Crucial, Kingston and Corsair with RAM.
  2. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand
  3. Your Kingston RAM pick also wont interfere.

G.Skill is fine RAM I think the guy that told you that it is bad should re read some stuff. In your last build you went from a 290 down to a 270 that will impact the performance of gaming in a mayor way. The rest of @IanDrexP was totally fine and paying more for corsair is dum plus the fact you need low profile RAM to be sure that it fits with a CPU cooler.

Yes, but the thing is my budget is 900 after taxes and shipping. With the 290 it comes to 900 before all that. I also don't neccicarily need the 290 right now, I don't play extremely demanding games to require that graphics card. Unless someone is willing to pitch in what I'm missing and I can pay you back later on, lol.

I will go with the Kingston FuryX blue ram, since it fits better, and I'm going for a Black and Blue theme in the end
