When gaming my Pentium G3258 will go to strangely high temperatures (70-85 degrees), although the socket will stay at around 29-35 degrees. Everything on the CPU is stock, and it doesn't seem like it should be making that much heat, so any help would be appreciated.

where are you getting these temps?

the cpu is fine. anything above 85 is a bit sketchy.

my 4790 gets around 80c when playing 64 multiplayer bf3.

and i know i need to get a new cpu cooler lol.

You may want to check whether something's wrong with your CPU's contact surface with your heatsink.

It would also be very helpful if you could tell us what software you're using to read off your CPU temps when playing games, as well as any extra information about your setup such as the heatsink/cpu cooler/motherboard you're using.
