Hello guys I have been making many posts on the general forums asking about single parts such as keyboards headset and other parts. I am planning on building a computer during the summer and i have compiled a list of all the parts that I am going to buy. This list was made on pcpartpicker accounting for Canadian tax. I personally think this build is great and near perfect however as i have learned in life nothing is perfect :D

I will be using this desktop to play video games, such as battlefield 4.This rig will also be used for video editing and Photoshop. My budget for everything is around 2400 however that's with tax and pcpartpicker is not the most accurate when it comes to calculating tax and shipping.

Please tell me about this build and tell me (if bad) what is should change or just give me some tips for building or part picking.

I would :

get an unlocked i5 and OC it

get a better quality PSU

swap the 970 with a R9 390 to save some $$ and with that money upgrade the monitor.

( also windows is overpriced )

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/VpMfgs ( idk about the monitor )

No need to buy windows just uinstall the technical preview and you get win10 for free.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

That is a really good build, though I would suggest getting a Z97 motherboard an the 4790K instead, just so in the future you can overclock it and get some more performance

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

Late 2015 Build : Intel i7 6700k // Asus Maximus VI Gene Z170 //  Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Gigabyte GTX 970 // Corsair Air 240

I am not looking to overclocking because I personally don't know how and I do not want to accidentally hurt a part in my computer, + the specs for this computer are going to be more than enough for what I want to do.

Why use a cooler if you can't overclock the chip? I would bump up to the 4790k if you want to keep the cooler.

the stock cooler isn't enough for a 4790, but a 212 evo is overkill of OP buys non K cpu

if non OC then this: the reason for z97 is that h97 don't support SLI according to PCPP (so don't quote me on this)

http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-850-Pro-256GB-vs-Crucial-BX100-250GB/2385vs3145

I would rather stay with the 850 pro

pros out outweigh the cons of getting a 850 pro ssd over the bx 100

of course they will, it's a pricer SSD
