R9 290 from Amazon. £240.

gtx 960 (if possible 4gb version)

My mate who had the EVGA one said that it runs perfectly fine in GTAV until you get to grassy areas then you get 20FPS but isn't like alot of the game full of grass so i don't want it to preform bad  if you know what i mean but i was looking into the gigabyte one.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#X=10127,23685&sort=a8&page=1&c=208,186 You have enough for a 960, so pick one. However, you can get this if you go like 3 bucks over your budget.  http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/zotac-video-card-zt9010110p  Though if stuck to your budget you could get the 290 which does excellent gaming.

Would the 970 4gb being only 3.5GB usable or something cause any problems in the long run?

3.5=usable, .5=dedicated to important tasks.  So, you'd still get the 4.  Will it cause problems?  At 1080p and 2k no, but in massive textures games at 4-8k yes.

1080p is perfectly fine to me, i will possibly got up 1440p in the furture years but i may push my budget slightly higer so i can this due to it having a blackplate :P

If not i'll just got the gigabyte 960 or AMD one (Last resort)

Gta V is a piece of shit if you ask me.

doesn't want to run maxed out on a 970 or a 980.

I had the strix 970 and have the reference 980 now. i am playing 1440p.

the gigabyte 960 has plenty of powerinput so i'd think you have more overclocking headroom but im not sure.

It is basically a give and take and you should just buy the fastest card in your budget. if you find an offer take it but you don't get much performance from spending much more money.

I think they all perform good and it is the software (gtav) that is utter shit.

I doubt GTAV is that bad with all the videos and reviews i've seen about it.....

yes i have seen them too. but even with my gtx 980 overclockced to about 1470mhz and a 4 core 8 thread cpu @3,8ghz (xeon 1231v3) i got drops into the 20s and do not get 60fps at any point in the game.

All i want is gaming sessions where i won't get like massive lag, i don't mind random lag spikes but i ever rarely play the triple A games.

Forgot to mention that i will be playing Beam.ng as well :)

then get a 960. its basically a  newer cheaper faster 770 and performs really good for what you want.

it will run everything maxed out maybe even at 1440p. but i would really get the 4gb version.

The problem with GTA V is that it eats VRAM like nothing else out there...

I don't think i'll have any major problems, like it being unplayable or something

Oh no, you won't. I'm playing it on a card with only 1GB of VRAM, and it still runs fine, albeit at pretty much the lowest settings. Get a 4GB card and you should be good for the highest settings, provided you don't mess with the advanced ones. TotalBiscuit tested those and they actually made the game exceed 8GB of VRAM usage...

First quote didn' work as i am on my phone right now :D what i wanted to say was: the reason i am getting thoseaweful framerates might be exactly what you said.. I have even the advanced stuff maxed out :D

Edit: I watched the video. he was not using up 8gb. just 4gb because like he said it is multiplied by 2 because he has not one but 2 gtx 980s

I suppose that is eminently possible, yes. It's been a while since I watched his Port Report, so the 8GB figure stuck in my mind but I'd sort of forgotten the SLI thing...
