"The Source File Is Corrupted"

Hi guys, I've recently been experiencing a frustrating error whenever I try to install any game on my system, during the installation process an error message would pop up saying "the source file is corrupted" giving me three options, ignore, abort or retry.

Retrying always fails I've had this issue with every single game in my steam library, from my research online a few people have said that its the RAM, I have 2x 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz CL9 memory, I tested each one on every RAM slot to no avail, the error still comes up.

This error only occured after I installed my new CPU cooler (noctua NH-C14) and my new Graphics card (HD 7970) two days ago, so it is possible that something might have gone wrong when I installed these components.

I'm at a loss, RMA'ing the RAM sticks is not an option for me, I've oredred them online from the US and I am not a resident of the US or Canada.
Shipping them back to Corsair is going to be extremely expensive and will leave me without a system.

HD 4870 .

I'm in the process of running memtest86 to determine if it is indeed the memory.

It may be the memory, but perhaps also installing the old card will help.

How could it be the graphics card ? the card runs fine I've benchmarked it with Metro 2033 and Bioshock Infinite.

Tried to benchmark it with 3DMark but I get the exact same "corrupted source file' error when I try to install it.

Memtest was taking forever so I stopped it, ran Prime95 memory torture test, and it was throwing errors.

you could try buying some cheap memory sticks somewhere and try if that works

I'm going to try burrowing a stick from one of my friends.

Steam games, Origin, Uplay, independent you name it.

Seems like my 2TB hardrive is at fault, games can be installed just fine on my SSD, no idea why the memory throws errors in Prime95 though, need to investigate that further.
But I've concluded that it's the HDD, the RAM is still a possibility though will do some investigations to determine if it's both the HDD and the RAM or only one of which that caused issues with the other,will report back.

scan your harddrive with hdtune and post the screenshot of the result ,i am guessing its the page file is placed in corrupted area (which happened to me before) and it caused ntfs bluescreens lots of errors that led me to ram related bluescreens

(a trick that might be useful ;download memtest86 iso and burn it or boot it from usb and test your rams with it ,it will be much more reliable then in windows tests)
