I recently switched from an iPhone 5S to an LG G3. I love a lot of things about it, but I have a lot of gripes too. More on that later. I have a couple gripes, as I previously said. These problems include finding a good messaging, camera, and podcast app. Keep in mind I switched from an iPhone, where all these apps are flawless. Any recommendations for apps? I also have a problem with the size of the phone. Again, I switched from a small phone to a phablet. I don't recommend this. I'm on Verizon, and I don't have an upgrade till March. I'm thinking of buying the One M9 at the end of July, is there a way I can sub in this phone to my plan to replace the G3? App recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When I got my G3, I was in a similar position, but I was coming from an iphone 4s, so the size change was even more pronounced (a full 2 inches).  A couple of my observations:

1) The stock LG messaging app is absolute garbage.  Group texting is nearly impossible because the UI freezes all the time.  I switched to hangouts and its been much, much better on all fronts.

2) I don't have any gripes with the stock camera app so I can't really help on that one. You could try the stock Google Camera, which is a pretty decent camera app on my Nexus 7.

3) Phone size is a personal preference thing.  I personally love the larger size of the G3 but that's just me.

Google Messenger or Hangouts. I use the stock app on my G4 and haven't had complaints.

I would suggest sticking with the stock camera app since I find it better than the Google Camera from my personal experience.

Yes, the G3 is a big phone (I have one as well along with my daily driver G4) but you'll get used to it. It's about the same size as the Galaxy S6 overall.
