For my mATX build plans (Phanteks Evolv) if I don't go with an ASUS ROG motherboard/GPU theme, I might go with the ASUS Z97 Gryphon motherboard with another brand aftermarket cooler GPU to save some cash. How is the mATX Gryphon? I'm talking about the non-armor one.

If I choose the Z97 Gryphon over the more pricey Maximus VII Gene then I want to use the most capable CPU cooler that will fit without blocking GPU or RAM slots. In my graphic layer mockup below the Cryorig R1 Universal appears to fit just fine. It seems to have more clearance all around than other mATX motherboards I've mocked up:
