Any problems?

Go to solution Solved by Ghost,

That's an odd tubing size but all your components are fine.

Hey, this is my first look into liquid cooling and I did originally intend to buy a kit - However I read just recently that the XSPC bay reservoir is prone to leaking so I decided to pick the pieces seperately and this is how it's turned out:

XSPC D5 Vario Pump & EK-D5 X-TOP CSQ

Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Xtreme 280

XSPC RayStorm CPU WaterBlock (Intel)

Bitspower Z-Multi 250mm Water Tank

Mayhems Pastel - Sunset Yellow Coolant 1L

Silverstone SST-AP141-UV Quiet Air Penetrator 140mm FAN 1500rpm

XSPC G1/4" to 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD Compression Fitting (Black Chrome)

Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 16/11 - Clear

Any input will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I did originally intend to buy http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-031-XS

However the max temperature according to that link is 60ºC and that seems too low for a liquid build.

If your liquid reaches 60C in a normal PC you have other things to worry about. coolant temp =/= component temp.

I wasn't talking about the tubing brand though, I was talking about the size.

Ahh right, I was just mildly concerned about the liquid getting too hot, however that doesn't seem to be an issue.

Thanks again, I'd hate to have bought this and not have compatible parts.

if location dictates, i'd prefer either using the EK XTX 280 or locate an

Alphacool XT/UT 280. the fin array of the BIX 280 is very, very dense and

is best suited for much higher fan speeds. on my Midi the BIX was fine but

the cooling performance was loud to get the temperatures to a more

comfortable level. swapped to HL SR1 and the temps fell down, fan speeds

down and the noise level was very acceptable. then moved to the Alphacool

UT60 280 and even better temps on same fan speed.
