VLC Crashing

Hi so ever sense I went 4k, about a month ago. VLC crashes or locks up then crashes, I have tried other versions of VLC and they all do the same thing. Anyone else experience this issue lately? What resolution are you using? What version of VLC is stable for you?

Here is where I would keep my frolics if I had any.
