I'd say go with the XPS 13, people seem to love it and that screen is hella sexy, even though it's got quite a hefty price tag. I heard that the Surface Pro 3 is awkward to hold while taking notes, and you would still have to buy the keyboard cover ($130) and the pen (another $50), which doesn't seem to make it worth it. Maybe wait for the Pro 4, otherwise get the XPS.

Is the super high resolution worth it? I would think 1080p is fine for a screen that size.

I wouldn't say it is, but then again some people think 1440p or higher is a requisite for a real smartphone these days. BAH.

XPS 13 1080p version. Or Lenovo Yoga 3 13.3".

8GB RAM recommended.

Both have great batteries and quality. I tried a tablet for school. (The original surface Pro) I love the laptop so much better. (I have the Yoga 2)
