Help with modem

I think my modem may be limiting my router but I am not much of a networking guy I have a motorola surfboard sb6121 .

I would like to know if this is still a relevant piece of technology or not. My router is an Apple Airport Extreme I don't know if it is still relevant or not either. Sadly my ISP is Charter (60 Megabits) but I do not want to hear crap about it I already know. If neither of these are still relevant I would like help in selecting new ones. Thanks!!
