AMD a10 6970k overclock

Has anyone tried overclocking this apu? Im currently overclocking it at 4.7ghz with 1.38V. Average core Temps of 45c. Any suggestions on this setting? Tested it with p95 and cinebench. Do you guys think this can go higher? I've read some even got to 5.0ghz

Average temps are meaningless. Check load temperatures. If they go over 64c you should lower your overclock or buy a better cooler.

50º are nice at loads.

 

4.7GHz and 1.38V are really good, too. I think you can still push it a little more, try 5GHz with more voltage.

AIDA 64 is quite good as well, but frankly if Prime95 isn't crashing it several hours in I would consider that a pretty good result. I doubt AIDA 64 is going to find instability that Prime95 missed, that is.

 

Cinebench is great as a benchmark to compare the results of your overclock. I wouldn't rely on it for stability testing.
