Does ram effect performance

I have 8gb of really old single channel ram and i feel like my performance is really bad for my specs

 

gigabyte 78lmt-s2p motherboard

AMD fx-6300

Corsair VS450 watt

cooler master n200

8gb kingston ram Single channel

GTX 960 2gb

 

Does ram effect performance or is my cpu bottlenecking

RAM doesn't really affect performance. System seems reasonably balanced to me. What applications are you having performance problems in?

Once you have 8GB, in 99% of scenarios anything more doesn't affect performance.

Your CPU isn't bottlenecking the 960. And why, I ask, did you get the 960? Should have gotten a 280/280X. And BTW RAM doesn't affect performance too much.

GTA 5 and rust load alot of objects at a distance as dots, like lamp posts in gta 5

Did you set the draw distance or tree range at a higher value?
