Cad Questions

Hey guys, 

 

I have a few questions about CAD. I know a little bit about it and was wondering if you could fill me in on the basics and principals of it. Also, what does it take to run it computer wise? Is it graphics heavy, does it require a lot of saved memory and RAM? Would I need to build a really nice system to run it smoothly with other things? If you guys could help me with this it would be great.

depends on what you are drafting. I have experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks

 

Computer wise AutoCAD should run on almost any computer. Solidworks is a bit more intensive but it still worked well on crappy school computers that had intel E7300s. There were slowdowns when doing a lot of fillets at once and fancy shaders were disabled. On my personal computer I have a AMD 7850K and a 290. It handled everything fine along with fancy shaders with a registry edit which enables them on consumer video cards
