You should theoretically be able to just overwrite the drive with windows, that's what I did....

You need an iso and a key
You wrote the iso to the usb and your computer can identify the usb, yes?

If not then this is a usb issue.

Did you try re-prioritizing the boot order to your USB first, then changing it back the first time it restarts for setting up?

Or did you not already try booting to it...

Yes to both. I can see the USB in Ubuntu.

I don't think I went to the right place to do it. Does it say the ID of the USB on the boot order thing. If so, I'm in the wrong place.

When you first turn on your computer, is there a thing that says press a key for boot menu?

Yes. When I go to there it has these options: LS120, Hard Disk (it has a plus next to it), CDROM, ZIP, USB-FDD, USB-ZIP, USB-CDROM, USB-HDD, and Legacy LAN.

Go to http://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap and download your specific .iso file from the download links menu on the right. Then, download the Universal USB Installer from www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ and use that to install your .iso onto a USB drive that you can boot from. After that, restart your computer and go to the boot menu in your BIOS, and select your USB drive. Exit your BIOS and boot from the USB.

If that doesn't work, you can try installing that .iso file onto a CD and booting from that CD.

Try USB-FDD and then try the others if it does not boot into the windows installer within 5 minutes.

Are you sure the OS is on the USB drive?

Yes. I am certain. But I think I found something. I looked in the BIOS and there is Boot Priority 1, 2, and 3, Do I make them all USB-FDD?

All you need to do is make the boot priority 1 USB-FDD, I would make the second one the hard drive so you know if something went wrong. After the first restart you will need to make your hard drive the 1st one though

It sounds like the os on it is corrupt or not installed properly. I don't know what to tell you now other than check the flash drive again.

I did RUFUS. But in the BIOS I have USB-FDD selected but it still boots to Ubuntu. This sucks.
