DSLR buy 1200-1500Eu

Hey guys,im really into the photography lately and i was looking at Nikon d5100 camera but now i can expand my money range.I can buy from 1200-1500Eu. I was looking at the nikon d7100 with 18-105 mm telephoto lens.The main use will be photoshooting and some video work,but not much.

Does it have to be a DSLR? You can have Sony A7 with kit lens for about 1300 and it will produce better pictures than a Nikon and better video aswell.

All depends on how much Nikon DX glass you already own and if you want to still what that sensor size or move up to a full frame in the future.

For video the d7100 is not the best. I got it and for photographing it is awesome but the autofocus is realy slow in Live View! I would buy a Sony a7 or a Sony a7ii if you can afford it.
