For streaming/rendering the 8350 is usually better -- but it depends a lot on the game/s. For just gaming a 4690k is no question better.

8350 barely holds a candle against 2500k

Haswell is significantly faster than both sandy bridge and ivy bridge in h264 software encoding.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.
