the 980 already had a price drop of around $500, But I don't expect there to be a price drop lower than that. The Titan X will stay at $1000 because no titan is lower than that, and the 980Ti could get a $50 reduction to comply with the fury cards.

Unless AMD really have a tonne of stock (which I don't see happening) and the card actually runs significantly better than 980Ti at 1440 and 4k resolutions.

Either way your looking at weeks before there is movement.

Don't think so... NVIDIA doesn't really seem like the kind of company that'll do that. Maybe in some time (like a few months) but not now.

That's just my guess though.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Im just thinking of pulling the trigger on 980 tommorow, or 980ti if prices would drop. Decision has to be made next week.

My guess is that a price drop is around the corner.  Why?

Nvidia was giving free AAA titles.  Witcher 3 with GTX 750ti & 960 and Witcher 3 AND Batman with the purchse of GTX 970 and up.  That's $60 & $120 value.

They know buyers would be pissed off if they, for example bought a GTX 970 for $330 and the price was dropped to say $280.  Many people would be mad.  But since they got 2 AAA brand new titles... they wouldn't be so bitter.

If Nvidia lowers the 750ti to $99, 960 to $149 and the 970 to $229... AMD would go belly up.

I doubt it. Nvidia themselves have more or less removed the Titan X from relevance with the 980 Ti already.

It doesn't seem like the R9 390X will be particularly credible competition for the GTX 970 with a $430 price tag. The GTX 960 already held it's own against the R9 285 at $200, so I doubt the R9 380 is going to put much pressure on it.
