Hello,

I'm upgrading my cases air cooling system at the moment, but i have ran out of fan headers. I have three 4pin chassis fan headers and one cpu fan header on the motherboard, which is a Asus M5a97 R2.0.

Once all my part arrive I will be using one 4pin headers for rear exhaust, one 4pin for front intake, the CPU header and then I have one remaining 4pin for two top exhaust fans.

So should I get a splitter for the final 4pin connector to run my two Corsair 120mm AF fans? The fans have 3pin plugs on them so can I get 4pin splitter and leave one pin unused? If so can can anyone recommend a splitter that will work for me...

I found this on Amazon, is this correct?

Thank you

James

Yes that should work no problem just be sure to setup the motherboard fan header so that it is DC voltage control for the 3 pin fans.

I just looked it up, and based upon user reports that motherboard doesn't deliver PWM through the 4-pin headers for the chassis fans, only voltage control.

So no need to set anything up, it will deal with 3-pin fans just fine
