Sometimes in my games (Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition), I'll notice some split second hitching.  I have an sli setup, so maybe it's that, but is it normal to have hitching in games?  It doesn't happen all the time, just every once in a while.  Sometimes it won't happen for an hour, other times it'll happen multiple times in 30 minutes.  Is this normal?

I don't think so, but maybe.  It's a split second pause.  Like literally a millisecond.  Is this normal for games?

Micro-stuttering. Yes. It sucks

(ignore the URL talking about AMD when you have nvidia cards, this still is generally true)

Yeah, it does suck.  It takes you out of the immersion.  Glad it's not a problem with my setup though

I get the micro-stutter even with v-sync on (the article said it should help).  Is that normal too?  It's not a constant thing, just every once in a while

Yeah that is normal, unfortunately. To quote that article, "As we’ve already established that it’s virtually impossible to eliminate stuttering entirely on a variable platform like the PC, stuttering will always be with us to some degree, particularly if v-sync is disabled."

Thanks for your input.  It sucks that we can't get rid of microstutter completely, even with v-sync on.  I guess it's something we have to deal with.    And sli makes it worse, I'm sure
