Hey guys. So I have been planning a CPU upgrade recently and I am looking at around the 4690k mark. I was just wondering if it would be worth waiting for skylake to be released and also how expensive skylake will be, with the new chipset and socket calling for a mobo upgrade aswell.

It is confirmed that it's going to debut at gamescon now in august,  two months from now.

So yes, since it's so close it will be worth the wait.

Although they might be costly at launch, so i would save up some money for two months and have a new architecture and chipset.

I think skylake, the i5 one will be $280 if I am correct. To me no it's not worth the wait. What GPU do you have now? If you use the iGPU it's worth the wait, if you up have a dedicated GPU no it's not worth it.

I have been using the FX-8350 for 2 years, it is worth the wait for people like me.
