Would it be better for me to wait for the 5th gen Intel processors, DDR4 memory, and X99 mobo prices to drop in price before I build a new PC or should I just go with DDR3 and a 4 gen CPU. I will be mainly playing games and I have read up that the 5 gen CPU and DDR4 will not impact your gaming all that much but I want to future proof my system so I wont have to upgrade for at least 3-4 years. I'm more inclined to wait for the prices to drop because if i do decide to go with a 4th gen cpu I will be stuck with the lga 1150 socket and will have to buy a whole new mobo and cpu plus the new DDR4 memory again later down the road if i do decide to upgrade. Which do you guys think is the better choice

Well.. generally the longer you can live with your current set-up.. the more performance you'll get when you do upgrade.

That said, DDR4 offers no huge benefit unless your using the IGPU.

There is no huge reason not to change now apart from maybe NVME support.
