Steelseries Shift problem

On the top of the Steelseries Shift keyboard there is Steelseries branding that should shine whenever the keyboard is plugged in to a working PC, but the problem is that it never stops shining. When I had Windows 7 it only kept shining for a few hours after turning of the pc or just few minutes, but since I upgraded to Windows 8 it just never stops shining. All day all night it shines... So I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to solve this problem? Because the only solution I use now is turning power socket off.

Well I guess it's kinda normal as a software shutdown still leaves your computer drawing power which would leave the lights on. Apart from unplugging your PC from the wall socket I don't really think that there is anything else that you can do.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
