Okay, so I recently played some BF3 and stumbled upon something interesting. I was playing on a filled 32-man TDM server and found that, when running on minimum settings, I was getting 60-70 fps and, when set to the absolute max, I was getting anywhere from the low 40's to the mid 60's with it averaging around 55ish. I am almost positive that there's a bottleneck in my system. I have a 7950 with an Athlon 760k and that's just getting started. I also only have 4GB of RAM and a Corsair CX430 which I'll be upgrading ASAP so I don't have to worry about it catching fire when I play games. Can someone confirm that my logic is correct or, if not, tell me what I'm missing?

Thanks.

Your Athlon is holding the graphic card back.

I had that problem a while ago. EA Help suggested I uninstall it then reinstall it and that worked for me.

Can anyone suggest a good CPU upgrade? Would an FX chip be good or should I go for an i5?

If you can, go for an i5. They perform really good in games.
