FPS drop, please help!

Go to solution Solved by blankoos,

The only way I managed to fix it was to set the monitor from 'Full' to 'Aspect'.

Doing it via the Nvidia Control Panel doesn't work.

(Adjust desktop size and position > Perform scaling on: GPU/Display.

GPU=black bars, Display=stretched.)

Now, I have it set to stretched, 'Display', so I get the 75fps without graphical interference and I've set the monitor to 'Aspect' which removes the 'stretched' effect but keeps the fps, cc, vs, and tb options.

Hi!

When playing CS:GO with an aspect ratio of 4:3 stretched 1152x864 I play on a consistent 75 fps.

But when switching to 4:3 black bars 1152x864 it drops down to 61 - 59.

And whenever it drops down to 59 my screen lags.

Not to mention when ever there's a smoke grenade active.

Nvidia 630 GT.

8gb RAM.

i5-3350p - 3.10GHz

I actually managed to get 120 fps on black bars when I first installed Nvidia software and drivers but when I restarted my computer it was back at 60 fps.

(Edit, I reinstalled all the drivers and CS:GO was on 120fps with a lot of screen taring and stuttering on the first boot. On the second it dropped down to 88fps. On the third 60. Still stuttering with a bit of vertical sync issues. So I'm playing on 4:3 stretched without any graphical interference until I get a new graphics card or until someone provides me with a solution.)

1. If you have a amd cpu you fucked.

2. Make sure no fps limit command is in place. Type fps_max 10000 in console.

3. Make sure MSAA is not crazy high.

For one I have a gtx 970 and secondly I have a i7 4790, I got stutter on insurgency too and the new update fixed it.

I doubt it's his system tbh. Even though its not the best.

Did you check if you had any viruses?
