Fallout 3 DLC?

I'm thinking of buying Fallout 3, as I've never played it and hear it's awesome.  I've also hear the DLC for it isn't that great so the GOTY edition is basically a waste.  Is this true?  Also what about Fallout:NV?  Is the DLC on it good?

Fallout 3 doesn't even work on my PC so I'm not sure that even the game itself is a good idea.

I liked most of it. As said above, the game worked fine unless i used a end, then a dll broke the game. Yes, get goty so you have everything.

yeah it is tre the DLC is shit, nv is okay and the dlc is once again poo although less so, i could never get the dlc to work on pc

the Broken Steel DLC was pretty good, raises the level Cap of your character, adds a bunch of weapons and armor, and actually changes the ending of the vanilla game.  

 

And isn't the difference right now like $2 between the original game and the goty version?  Just the new lvl cap and skills are worth that.

I have GOTY, it's worth the price of a new game, epic game, same as NV.

I loved the DLC in Fallout 3. The Chinese Stealth Suit is the most fun item in the game. You also get to trip balls in the bayou DLC one. 

 

For those who can't get it to run on your PC, compatibility mode can be your friend.

I would get the DLC for the new items. The alien dlc is fun because it is something goofy.

Anchorage - Sucked.

The Pitt - Alright. Worth playing through.

Broken Steel - Good.

Point Lookout - Good.

Zeta - Sucked.

The DLC isn't bad, although you might want to get it for mods or for the Tale of Two Wastslands mod for New Vegas.
