Gigabyte GTX 970 Mini ITX vs Asus DirectCU Mini

ScaryFatKidGT

So these are currently interesting me. I want to go with the Gigabyte due to the better I/O but the Asus is clocked a little higher along with the extra 10 on the ram people seem to be doing. Can I overclock the Gigabyte just as fast with no issues? Do these cards have lower power limits like the 970 Strix cards seem to have vs there full-sized 970 counterparts?

I'm thinking of putting a push pull set up in the form of a Sugo SG03 with 1 or 2 of these 970's in there :)... or should I just go with the SG09/10?

1. How do you know they will be making a mini and 2. Because its just going to be the typical AMD, slightly more performance for the same money and double the power consumption or around that same or slightly less performance for cheaper but will will more power consumption and heat. Also what R9 card would it be?

It seems to OC really well for having the crappy 110% power cap. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2015/01/15/asus-geforce-gtx-970-directcu-mini-review/9

Did you even look at what I was talking about? I said R9 Nano, because it's the R9 Nano. That's what it will be called, and they wouldn't have announced it if they weren't making it. Twice the performance-per-watt of the 290X, which nobody is complaining about.

Ohhhh I just figured they were making a "nano" version of like the R9 370 or something.

I also have been planing on a G-Sync monitor.

Oh okay, in that case I'd go for the Gigabyte over the Asus, since Asus has been having issues with power delivery on the full-size Strix 970 and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the case on the Mini ITX version as well. Fine for stock speeds but even a slight OC starts to bring the VRMs to their knees.

I bet the Gigabyte is to sense they both use one 8 pin power connector and a 4+1 design vs 6+2.
