I was wondering if my specs were fine to create a Hackintosh that runs a dual boot up with windows 8.1. More likely I would need to make some changes to the motherboard and maybe the CPU. All comments to help me out would be appreciated. Thank you in advance and sorry if i made some general mistakes.

Hello,

Should work just fine, they improved it A LOT these last years, just retried a few days ago and it's way easier now if you stick with standard parts.

Also your list seems to fit the requirements. For information I've tried the Niresh version lately, basically when you boot up it doesn't find network and sound, it's normal : it autoexec the script after the first boot that installs all of the KEXTS (drivers) by itself then fixes permissions and stuff. Seems clean.

I've tried it with a second hand PC just for fun to check how much they improved the "hack", parts were Core i3, Asus mobo, Geforce 460 ti, tried some basic 3D games like Hearthstone and it was very smooth.

Have fun

You're welcome !

Oh btw, first thing you do is turn off the updates in the settings. Reason is that any OSX updates (depending of the patchnotes obviously) can remove the hack permissions and also you might have to reinstall KEXTS and stuff, can make a big mess. (You can afterwards check online how to apply the specific update properly for a hackintosh (as any updates are different).

Like Simons said, look for a gigabyte board.   They re usually preferred for Hackintosh builds.  Other than that, looks pretty good.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.
