1tb hdd, but i was planning to get an ssd in the future, is that what's causing it?

I would have to assume so, the processor, GPU, Motherboard, and Ram seem to have no affect on it. Like someone said earlier, you might be running some background items like Antivirus that'll clog up the HDD. I'd have to assume an SSD would fix this for the most part.

Case: NZXT 210

CPU: i5-4690k - GPU: Zotac GTX 960

RAM: G.Skill Ripsaw 1333 16GB (2x8gb) - Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate

PSU: EVGA 500b - HDDs: Western Digital 250GB, Western Digital 500GB, Western Digital 1TB.

It usually happens to me when I have ****tastic CPU, or too hot, Your cpu is like 100x better than mine, only things I can say is background processes, thermal problems, closely monitor where your resources going, maybe something you used previously still hogging memory

Yeah, I've already tried to check my antivirus, and I don't let it run in the background.

I'll double check everything, but I did find a solution, or at least a temporary one, I just cranked all my stettings to low, and i have no noticeable difference in the looks, except my skins, especially with all the other stuff I listed up there on, so maybe try that?

Ok so i just got my new setup, x99 pro usb 3.1, an intel 5820k, 16gb of ram running at 2666mhz, and a new psu. Anyway, CSGO is giving me unusual lag, especially when shooting, or changing environments (Such as going from a dark, shaded area to a very bright one). It's obvious I have the hardware to run a simple game like Counter-strike. So what am i doing? Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

what harddrive do you have?

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866MHz

GPU: Asus Strix RTX 2060 OC

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero

Storage: 1TB, 500GB, 250GB SSD's, 1TB SSHD

Case: Corsair Carbide Air 540

It looks like it stays around 120, but for brief seconds, i can see it go into red, and yellow, so i'm dropping frames? Idk. My setting are all high except for effect detail. Multicore rendering is on, Multi anti aliasing is off. texture filtering mode is bilinear, fxaa anti aliasing is enabled. vsync and motion blur are disabled. And thats all. I'm not sure what to do, i have always had consistent frames and then all of the sudden, this happened..

After you turned them all to low did you notice less drops? Also, try uninstalling Geforce Experience and see if that fixes it. If you want to reinstall it just get the latest nvidia drivers. I have a HDD and I don't get drops that low so don't think an SSD with fix all of your problems.

That's good but you really shouldn't have to do that. Did you look at the link I posted or try what I suggested? Verify the game cache via steam if you haven't tried that as well. I know you already reinstalled but it couldn't hurt.

I figured out that it isn't lag, it's screen tearing. I've tried everything. Setting a max fps, vsync (Which cause terrible imput lag), and uninstalling like you suggested. I'm out of options

it's that 60Hz.. :P . .. Try 120Hz or 144Hz and you are going to feel good

If you haven't already, try reinstalling the game. Steam should save settings automatically (atleast it does for me).
