Ok so i just got my new setup, x99 pro usb 3.1, an intel 5820k, 16gb of ram running at 2666mhz, and a new psu. Anyway, CSGO is giving me unusual lag, especially when shooting, or changing environments (Such as going from a dark, shaded area to a very bright one). It's obvious I have the hardware to run a simple game like Counter-strike. So what am i doing? Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

what graphics card do you have? anything better than a gt640 should handle CS:GO, but I ought to ask anyways

lag, as in ping? I'm not sure I understand the problem. Framerate? Settings? What's your GPU (you don't have that listed). What are your settings? You really give nothing to go on.

It's not ping, my gpu is a gtx 760, and im not quite sure how to describe it, but all my setting are on high, and it is optomized by GeForce

When i say i'm not quite sure how to describe it, i mean the lag issue, It s not ping, but it doesn't feel like frame rate either....

I'm sure you know, but I should mention anyways just in case, you can check disk usage in the task manager. it's one thing they added to 8 and 8.1 that's actually pretty awesome.

I did, and it isn't it, but i just tried playing BF4 and had no issues whatsoever, so maybe its my settings?

I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling CS:GO. you should have plenty of performance, as my 660 ti can run it at 200-300fps at max settings. maybe reinstalling it will fix any problems with the installation that are causing these issues.

1080p

Shouldn't really be having any issues at that res.

Goes without saying, but make sure you have settings like motion blur, FXAA and motion blur off, and any ultra dumb settings like 8x MSAA. I'm using a 760 at the minute and at 1440p, and I can't get a constant 200FPS unless I run the game on all lowest settings, especially in smokes.

Uninstalling didn't work, i think it's stuttering more than anything, i'm not sure what to do

I figured out that it isn't lag, it's screen tearing. I've tried everything. Setting a max fps, vsync (Which cause terrible imput lag), and uninstalling like you suggested. I'm out of options

I too can't deal with vsync in CSGO. I'm okay with a bit of tearing at 300fps if it makes it more responsive.

Yeah, guess i'll just have to deal with it :(

Can you screenshot your video settings? Also, assuming you know you to use the console (cl_showfps 1 in console) what's your framerate like? What's the lowest you see it drop to? There's always a way to fix it so don't just give up.

It looks like it stays around 120, but for brief seconds, i can see it go into red, and yellow, so i'm dropping frames? Idk. My setting are all high except for effect detail. Multicore rendering is on, Multi anti aliasing is off. texture filtering mode is bilinear, fxaa anti aliasing is enabled. vsync and motion blur are disabled. And thats all. I'm not sure what to do, i have always had consistent frames and then all of the sudden, this happened..

Could it be described like so:

Running fine, sudden stop while shooting, goes to maybe under 20 FPS for about one to two seconds and then instantly goes back to 120FPS?

More like a pause in game then a lag?

Yes! Exactly!

Yes, I get this all the time. Very annoying, but I haven't died because of yet.

Do you run off SSD or a normal HDD?
