Hey, new here.

I'm looking for a fan to fit a case with 162mm clearance. I orignally wanted the phanteks tc14pe which has 171mm height with 140mm fans but 160mm with no fans. Im wondering if its 160mm with 120mm fans or if I should just go with the tc12dx orrrr if there is a better cooling setup I should go with. Thanks in advance.

It's going to come with clips that attach the fans, so you can't just attach fans of a smaller size, like you can on a case. I'd just go for the PH-TC12DX, really. I don't know what CPU you're running, but if its not something with a massive TDP and you don't intend on massively overclocking it either, a PH-TC14PE might be overkill anyway.

Yeah, that's a CPU with, according to Wikip, a TDP of only 88W. Even bearing in mind the inherent inaccuracy in TDP specs and your overclock, you're probably still under 100W. My Phenom II X6 puts out almost 1.5 times as much heat, and I'm still doing absolutely fine* with a cooler that is vastly inferior to a PH-TC12DX. You really ought to be fine with that thing.

* = "doing absolutely fine" here having the meaning of "I've never seen CPU temps above 70 degrees even in the worst of scenarios, in a case with rubbish airflow and no case fans, and under unrealistic synthetic benchmark loads".
