what SATA do i use ?

Go to solution Solved by mroz10,

It doesn't matter :D

Use the Intel sata controller. If they are all Intel then as stated, it does not matter.

depends which ssd it is

if it's sata express you have to plug it in a sata express port

if it's any other sata 1/2/3 ssd, plug it in the fastest port on your mobo (SATA 3 in your case). make sure you use a sata 3 cable though on the sata 3 port or else if you use a sata 2 port it'll be bottlenecked by the cable.

FTFY ;) There is no difference between SATA 1/2/3 cable-wise. See Linus' vid:

OP, BloodyValley is right on this one (about the ports, that is). SSDs should go to a SATA3 port for maximum throughput. For HDDs it doesn't matter at all. If you have multiple controllers, use the Intel one for any high-speed, low-latency applications (OS, programs,...). Mass storage just goes wherever you have ports left.

That's a misconception; a sata cable is a sata cable. :)
