I'm going to be sleeving the cables from my HX1000i and I noticed the arranging in some cables like the 24 pin were really weird. The wires didn't go from point a to point b. It was like wire a wrapped behind wire b to get to point b. What I mean is it wasn't straight from one socket to the mirroring one on the other end. If anyone knows if I can arrange them the normal way it's much appreciated.

The cables arnt suppose to go pin to pin as you think they would. Just place them back the same way you removed them to be safe.

Putting them in the wrong sockets would be a bad idea. Most OEM's intentionally don't make it a perfect 1-to-1 arrangement. And all the wires don't do the same thing.

Grab a cable comb if you want your sleeved wires to look straighter.

Also, If I were to make a cable set for the PSU from scratch instead of the ones it came with, would I be able to make it so it were perfectly straight or would it still have to the same order?

You'll still need the same order, well unless you want to fry some hardware.

If you introduce a cable comb you can make the wires look nice and organized when they come out from behind the tray.

Also does it matter which wire I use in each socket? As in, I used one on socket 2 that was originally in socket 1?

Some cables may have double wires but if you have a pinout diagram of the PSU side you can theoretically mix and match connections as long as they meet the proper ATX specification on the connector side if you know what your doing. The only wires that you must not mix up is the Power On, Power OK, 5V SB, and -12V wires.
