Hi guys!

Been asking around on the air forums for the best air cooler for 100$ came up with the cm hyper 212 evo + new fans as most bang for the buck, and now i'm looking for its opposite on the watercooler side to see which i'll choose in the end.

My processor is a 3570k and i do not intend on overclocking it once i build my computer, im not much for an overclocker.

been looking and heard alot of good review of the H60 v2(2013) edition and been considering that one, however i'd like to hear tips from you guys.

The reason i'm now looking into the water part is because im not too positive about haning a heavy heatsink on the motherboard, even if it will handle it, i just get insecure about it.

Thanks for your time, and have a nice day!

If you keep your eye out, sometime the H80/h80i will go on sale along with the Antec 920 - all good ones. Honestly though, as long as you mount the air cooler solidly and do go banging your case a lot, there shouldn't be any problems with the larger heatsinks.

I just wonder about the CM option - wouldn't a Noctua or Phantecs cooler be in around the $100 mark, or less? I would think either of those would have a bit better performance then the CM one, and most 120mm AiO for that matter...

na, because i do not want to wait 5 months to get a cooler. since i do not have a job and all money is from birthday money and christmas so wont save for a expensive one.

Well that's unfortunate cuz with that budget you're going to probably end up with something mediocre in performance that you'll want to upgrade anyways. I would rather wait a few months to see if you can save up or catch a sale.

Looking closer at your OP, if you're running stock and don't plan on overclocking then air cooling should be sufficient. Hell, even the stock Intel fan cooler will be sufficient unless you're really that bothered by noise that you need to replace stock with another air cooler or even more so that you need to replace an aftermarket air cooler with custom fans with a water cooler; keep in mind pumps make noise too.

Ultimately I think having a H100i or H110 will give you more options in the future with your CPU (seeing as how you have a "K" CPU which you should be overclocking anyways on air or water), so save up now and reap benefits later rather than throwing money away.

Just my two cents, take it how you will.

Who ever told you the best air cooler for $100 was a 212 Evo has some serious problems. They're about $30ish. If you're looking at top of the line air coolers for $100 - the Noctua D14 in my book is the winner - Linus has shown it to cool better than the H80.

+1 for Noctua D14

didnt say it were the best for 100$ but it were most bang for the buck cooler that is enough for a unclocked 3570k

AiO coolers have horrible price : performance ratios, especially the H100. Why not spend less but get the same performance with an air cooler? You can get a Noctua NH-D14 or Phanteks PH-C14PE for $80 and they can perform on par, if not better than a H100. There is probably more of a chance having a problem with an AiO cooler rather than having extra weight on the motherboard.

The Hyper 212 EVO is a good cooler at a low cost but it's not the best but it will give you a respectable overclock, if you are not planning on overclocking too high then go with this as it will do the job perfectly.

Just my two cents.
