I didn't know which forum board to place this under so I figured I'd just put it here. It can be moved if needed.

I plan to build a new Gaming PC soon and sell the desktop I currently have on craigslist. I'm wondering what it would be worth though? I bought it for $600 about 3 years ago. No hardware has been added or removed. It is in great condition and still runs great.

This is the desktop I have: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03134247

UPDATE: From reading the replies, it may be hard to sell and would get 100-150 for it. I was really hoping for 200-250 before posting this thread. In this case, think I should just keep it to have it as a second desktop to run certain games and programs on over night instead of running those things when I go to sleep on the new PC I plan to build?

100 - 150? Maybe

Problem is the APU, only 6gb of Ram and no Discrete GPU for gaming.

Therefor only making it a good purchase for office users and they don't pay a lot for a basic computer.

no way lol. you can buy a new desktop with more ram and more storage (things people care about) for that much.

a normal person sees a 600$ pc for 400$, not specs mate. I sold my laptop simply because of how much it was worth when i bought it, not for the specs. its kind of annoying, but thats how it works.

normal person would also see that it's a used old item for the same amount as a new one.

I also highly doubt people search for computers on craigslist if they don't understand anything, they just go to a store and buy something, or ask someone who understands for help.

where I live people despise old things. They would rather save up, buy new and then use it till it completely blows up.

its weird, as I live in the richest county in my state. in actually rather high end neighborhood. I guess they got there because they like to save money lol. I dunno, here its common to just buy more electronics.

So for that time, it wasnt that bad.

Sure for nowdays standard you may only get a $100,- for it.

But still, no dedicated GPU, crappy PSU, crappy case, crappy motherboard (probably)

the tiniest amount of research on these machines shows it was the going rate for them when new.

Does that realy matter for the purpose that system had wenn it came out?

It obviously wasnt ment to be a gaming machine, or a heavy duty rendering machine.

Nowdays you can buy prebuilds with "cheap" hardware, which will be totaly fine for most allday office / browsing the web ussage.

for arround $400,-

And they are basicly totaly fine for it, but ofc they are obviously not designed to be a gaming monster. :P

It's quite funny you say that because I was a sophomore in high school when I bought this and let's just say I didn't know the difference between a USB port and a hard drive. I basically went to the store and told the worker I needed a good gaming PC for my budget and was also into things like video editing. This is what he told me would be my best option for that.  :P
