Hi,

quick question i have a Asus Fatal1ty z97 killer motherboard with a i7 4790k and a SSD as main Drive with Windows installed.

Now i wanne setup storage for all my old DVDs and Pictures and i was thinking about Raid 5 to get a bit of failure safety.

Should i set-up the Raid via a Software and when yes which on or should i use the onboard Raid feature.

My main concern is what happends when my mainboard breaks?

Im kinde new to the Raid stuff so it shouldnt be so complicated and i dont want to use a complete safe solution with ZFS and stuff like this because it way to much affort for just some DVD data.

Sry for my english, im from germany :D

Hope someone can help me.
