Hackintosh?

As I have said before my current Mac 3,1 is stupid slow now. I can't leave the Apple system for video editing as I have used it longer and I feel it flows nicer and runs better then Adobe CC. Every thing that is connected to the mac is made for Mac. I want to build a new computer with a xeon and a good GPU for rendering. My biggest road block is do you still have to flash the cards and hardware for OSX? Also could you just use the same hard drive that has the OS on it and just hook it into a news computer with drivers? I know linus made a video but I am not starting from scratch, I have a hard drive and computer running OSX already. Any help would be very helpful! Budget is around $2,000
