New Case

mrblue15

Hi forum.

I am looking to change my case, I want some thing that is sleek, quiet, cool, dust free, and clean looking inside. Right now I am trying to decide on if I want to go with a Mid or Full Tower. I don't really want to water cool because I don't like to overclock my processor. So I will probably just be using air cooling. As of now, this is what my build looks like, https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/  Some other things you guys might want to know is that at the moment I have a sound blaster z sound card, a SSD, and just a normal terabyte disk drive. Also my GPU is a gtx 970 and I will be looking into SLI in the future. Also I will probably upgrade my power supply to a Corsair Professional Gold 1200W 80+. So let me know what you guys think about all this. I would love your help I am pretty lost when it comes to cases and cooling.

Thank you, Brian

-snip-

Corsair 450D or 750D.

NZXT H440 or H630.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro or Luxe.

Fractal Design R5 or S.

I would say those are some solid choices.

These are all good options. The Enthoo Pro is probably best for the money, it's an awesome case.

The Enthoo Pro is the best you can get for around $100.

I however don't really prefer it because I'm not a fan of the aesthetics but if you like them you can't get any better case.

Why would you switch to a 1200W PSU? You can SLI 970's with a 750W.

As for the case, Fractal Design's Define S is my favourite, but limits the HDD's to 3 along with 2 SSD's and has no 5.25" bays.

Other good ones are Fractal's Define R5, allows 8x 3.5" plus 2x 2.5" and 2 or 3x 5.25" devices. NZXT's H440 and S340. Phanteks Enthoo Pro, and while I don't think it's available just yet, the Evolv ATX.

Also please fix the PCPartPicker link.

Alright hopefully the link works. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tcK8wP

Right now I am leaning towards the H440 but I am hesitant because it is a mid not a full. Do you guys think that if I have all the stuff I have it would fit well in a mid?

i would suggest you buy a better non-K CPU if you are not going to overclock!

also, have you looked at the NZXT H440?

What CPU would you recommend? I just don't really want to learn all the small finesse things that come along with overclocking a processor. I just want it to perform solid out of the box.

The reason why I might switch to a 1200W PSU is because I might get a whole $2000 dollar gaming computer for free that comes with one I don't know all the exact specs that's why I didn't put them in here. Long story short I may or may not get it basically the Part picker link is for the stuff that I will buy if I don't get the $2000 computer for some reason.
