A little help guys

Hey guys and dolls a little help if you please.

I recently upgraded my RAM and since doing so my computer shows no picture when I start it up.

I'm running a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 the RAM I'm trying to upgrade too is 8GB HyperX Savage

if I place the old RAM in my system works perfectly.

any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Meaning no POST probably.

 

Run the RAM configuration as it works, then update the BIOS and see if that helps with the new DIMMs.

My M5A78L-M/USB3 never worked with 8GB DIMMs, so I had to go out and buy 4x4GB as well to get the 16GB I wanted.

Meaning no signal goes to my monitor. Hpeeves if I switch out to my old ram I get a signal

Once or twice I plugged the monitor cable into the MB VGA connection instead or the GPU VGA connector and it did the same thing.

I felt like a moron.

Maybe bad stick (DeadOnArrival) of RAM. Did you try to put it in a different slot?

Are there any beeps or any post codes?

I get beeps and I've tried it in every slot

Okay, so there is something wrong and the beeps will show you what.

Count the beeps and their frequency and then check you motherboard manual (or google it) what error corresponds to the beeps.

The POST beep says that there is a problem with the RAM. Just waiting on a new stick and ill update you guys to how it goes
