So guys i have a customer he has a awesome sign business in which he needs an awesome pc to help his rendering of graphics. the only thing ik about the thing right now is that it has 2 gpus and i think a lower end i7. he doesnt know the models or anything so therfore because i wasn't at the pc i dont know either...

Whatcha Got for Me? Depending on his budget im thinking a 4790k and a single gtx 980 ti

but i just talked to him briefly about it so i dont know budget or what he has already...

give me parts list via pcpartpicker try to keep it round $1000 to $1700

if you go over no worries idcare

What programs does he use? Depending on the program, there is zero point in anything above a 750ti. However, some may be able to utilize the GPU to help with rendering.

You haven't given us much to work on. Come back when you have the actual budget he is willing to spend, his current system for comparison, and the software which he's using that is struggling to run with the current system. Then we will be able to come up with something suitable.

uh i dont know the programs he uses. but he says his dual gpu setup and i7 (whatever models they are) are no longer keeping up

Well, here you go, until you know for sure. Like games, specific applications require specific things. He could be running out of memory, or, he could be dealing with slow cards. better yet, iut could be as simple as old hard drives. For all we know, throwing 1.5K at the problem will only fix it because we now have an SSD in the mix.

1. No need for a (k) processor. You need reliability, not raw speed for most.

2. because no K processor, an H-series mobo will do fine.

3. 500GB SSd for OS and temporary photo/rendering storage.

4. 2x 2TB For RAID 0, redundant storage for files. If he has another backup solution (which he absolutely should), we can either drop one or turn into RAID1 for speed.

5. Nondescript case with simple but good cooler.

6. PSU is meh, I'm not sure what is good these days. However, this one will work.

Once you know exactly what he needs, you can add an applicable GPU, add more RAM, switch to a better CPU or Xeon solution.

just gimme a parts list for rendering insane fast (remember 2d images not 3d or video) and also show the quality of the image via gpu.

when i find more about his current setup what programs he uses and what he does most in the world of his buisness then i will make a new topic with more narrow needs

The one I posted above will do MS Paint really fast.

But really, you can use integrated graphics for 2d. I use a system similar to the above for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. And lightroom's weird slowness is what causes more issues than any hardware bottleneck.

My brother does lightroom on a laptop, and that works just fine as well. (i5, 8GB ram, Intel graphics). Just about as fast as mine.
