Should I get a 970 with a kraken g10 and 2 corsair h55 and a 1tb hard drive for $550 or a single 980 ti for $650 but when the strix 980 ti comes out it will probebly be $700. Im only going to be doing 1080p gaming until I get a 1440p monitor. My cpu is a 4790k. I feel like the first choice is better because it cost less and Im getting a lot more things. Also I heard the h55 isnt the best for overclocking the cpu. Is there any better Aio under $75 that will let me overclock the cpu? I hope you can answer all the questions. Thanks!

A 1080p monitor but at what refresh rate? One 970 is not enough for a 1080p monitor @ 144hz. 1440p @ 60hz is easier to push then 1080p @ 144hz.

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

people i talk to say its fine as long as there is good airflow

Define how good your airflow is. Unless you are telling me you can ensure the air gets to all the crucial places it needs to be consistently, your 970 is going to start throttling.

The MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G is already getting 90°C+ on the VRMs when under load, and that's with heatsinks and a fan blowing DIRECTLY over them, imagine if you remove the fan over it and depend on "good airflow". It's like when a building is on fire and its raining and the fire department just says the rain will do the job.

Do more research before you start buying the parts and installing it.

Check to see if the 970 model you're getting has its VRMs on right side or on the left side of the PCB. If the VRMs are on the right side, then good, the G10 bracket will have mounting holes for a 92mm fan to cool the VRMs. If its on the left side, then you better find some way to get direct airflow over the VRMs or your card is gona throttle and eventually burn out.

As "universal" as the Kraken G10 may be, it is not the most amateurish product.

Why not just buy the evga 980ti hybrid?

Bolded portion

personally i think you'll be better of with something like a 970 strix instead of the aio route, but if you go aio please put some small vrm heatsinks on at least the vrm especially if you want to do some nice overclocking, vram isn't that big of an issue.
