So I was gonna upgrade my cousins PS4 to 1tb since we are constantly removing games. From what I read it needs a 2.5inch HDD ? I seen Western Digital had some WD Blues for $60 but they are 5400rpm, is the current HDD 5400rpm or is a faster HDD better? Plus how would I put everything over like our saved games. Just put the saved game data on a USB? Would we have to re download the games like you do when you first put a brand new game in a ps4?

Yeah a SSD is to expensive. So I know I can clone it but couldn't we just re download the games and clone over the games saved data through USB? We already redownload and do this so it's nothing new. How would something like this be? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10jpvx Or would a 7200rpm with more cache be worth the extra money to get a little faster loading times.

EDIT- http://pcpartpicker.com/part/hitachi-internal-hard-drive-0s03563 Something like this.. But I've never heard anything about Hitachi, anything more then this cost like $180 and at that point just get a SSD .

Hey DarkBlade2117,

The stock 500GB HDD in the console is a 5,400 rpm one and (from my experience on my PS4) it works pretty well. You can either get a 1TB 5,400rpm drive or a 7,200 rom one which should give you better loading times (can't say how much would the improvement be) but I doubt you'll have any other improvements. Higher RPM means more vibrations and heat coming from the drive.
I could suggest checking out WD Blue and WD Black drives as options for the console:

Captain_WD.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
