I'd like to know know if these components will run most AAA games at high/max settings at 1080p+ and if they're all compatible. If not, could you give an alternative with similar capabilities?

Also, regarding the ram, what will happen if it were left the same?

This'll be my first build so suggestions would be a great help. Thanks.

This is the thing about the "can it run x games?" question. It's too generic. We have no idea what frame rate you desire. Another thing: If it wouldn't run the titles at your specifications, why would a similarly specced system do any better if it's similarly specced?

You can drop to an i5 4690K if you do not need the hyper threading.  This system will support a second GTX 970.

Thanks. I've changed it up a bit after reading and came to this. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/dG9WTWWill cooling be an issue with an extra 2 200mm fans on top of the stock?

I picked the Enthoo Pro because it has more features.  It is a full tower, it has an on board fan hub controller(control up to six case fans from with in Windows), and it can be broken down almost entirely... in case you wanted to paint it.  It is just a really good deal.  I have a CM 690, it is good... but not that good.

The V300 SSD from Kingston is terrible.  It is the last thing I would change.  The NAND modules are not the same ones that Kingston started with when they launched it.  It writes as low as 50 MB/s sequential... just terrible.
