Alrighty, so the past few days i have had a weird framerate issue across multiple games to the point its annoying. A few of the games i noticed it on is Battlefield 4, Far Cry 4, and Witcher 3. When i have the game on Ultra (besides witcher) i get a stable 53-60FPS, then randomly it keeps diving to 30 then even further to about 14 or lower FPS sometimes. Even when i switch it to other settings like High, Medium and Low, even custom settings it does the exact same thing. My rig specs are as followed.

CPU: AMD FX-9370
GPU: XFX R9-280x Black Edition
Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengence
Mobo: Asrock 990FX Extreme 3
HDD: 3TB Toshiba
Heatsink: Asetek 570LXL Extreme Liquid CPU Cooler
OS: Windows 8.1

I know the mobo cant really handle the FX9370, so i have it underclocked to 4.2ghz. I even disable the thermal throttling things in the bios. Any ideas how to fix this? Is it possible it can be an issue with the screen im using since i have it hooked up through HDMI to my TV thats 720p.

no idea, i just recently got the rig from Cyberpower.. It plays my other games without a fault. I even have my HDMI connection pluged into the HDMI1/DVI port.

What other games do you play? Most people would say a CPU bottleneck but it shouldn't be an issue in BF4

"Rawr XD"

Well if it was a CPU bottleneck just downclocking the CPU would fix it right? The other games are Borderlands 2, Deus Ex: HR, Skyrim with mods, CS:GO, Dark Soul 2, Fallout and Starboud..

It depends on how it's bottlenecking the game. Some games don't like some overclocks, but that's more on the GPU side.

What settings besides "low/med/high" are you trying to run Witcher at? If you have Hairworks enabled I would disable that since your GPU isn't an Nvidia card.

I have tried each setting along with mix and matching multiple different custom settings. It does the same thing, not as predominant in Witcher as in Far Cry 4, but its really odd that it does it in Far Cry even on medium to low settings, especially when it should be able to handle high at a stable 30fps if not higher.

Do you have Hairworks enabled on both of those games? You sholdn't.
