NO VIDEO

I have had the trouble with my moniter that the colors are all wrong on everythin. I'm using a vga cable hooked to a gtx 960 via an adapter. the card has a dual-link DVI-I conector and my moniter a dual-link DVI-D connector. when i connect them via a single-link dvi-d connector I lose signal when windows begins to boot but the bios boots just fine...why?

Don't use adapters. They just cause problems. Just go to raidoshak and get a dual link DVI-I cable for like $6, and solve your problem.
