So I'm on a $1300 budget, and this is what I decided to buy this summer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gMRLLk

* Use: gaming

* Monitor: 1080p

The main use will be gaming and regular school work. I have a few questions though:

* 1. How much FPS will I get on Minecraft? (1080p)

* 2. How much FPS will I get on GTA V? (1080p)

* 3. Does my SSD have enough space for all of the following? GTA V, CS:GO, Minecraft, and Windows 8.1.

* 3. How many browsers and tabs could I have open at once? (The work I do requires a good amount)

* 4. Any other opinions/feedback.

Thanks!

ssd is enough, in gta 5 you will have around 69 fps (not joking), in minecraft you will have ridiculously high fps so dont worry, browsers and tabs are fine. but you dont need a k95. go for something cheaper or get a basic PS/2 keyboard like me. it's as good as most gaming keyboards anyway.

EDIT: why go for a mini-itx case? is this your first build? i would go for a standard size atx case to make life easier

1: Are you serious?

2: Probably 60 fps in ultra (in my version of the bulid)

3:Yes

4: A lot, depends but definitely more than 70

5: Why get a i5 4690K and a weaker graphic card for gaming? Always spend more in your graphic card. I also think that the keyboard and mouse are too pricey, but because it's mostly preference with peripherals II'll leave them be.

here is the improved one

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($176.98 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H55 57.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock H97M-ITX/AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($65.98 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card  ($310.95 @ B&H)
Case: Silverstone RVZ01B Mini ITX Desktop Case  ($79.99 @ Directron)
Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($166.00 @ NCIX US)
Mouse: Razer Ouroboros Wireless Laser Mouse  ($119.99 @ Directron)
Total: $1311.83
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I just love the K95 because it looks awesome and has very customizable RGB keys. Are there other keyboards similar to the complexity of the K95 that I do not know of?

I went for a mini-ITX case because I don't want it taking up a lot of space on my desk and I don't want a case under my desk either. Also, it is portable, which is great for me.

Yeah, I am serious about the Minecraft question :).

Also, Minecraft is more CPU-heavy rather than GPU. I think the GPU is good enough for a lot of things and a 4690k can come in handy a lot more when I do school work.

I don't know anything about CS:GO yet. I am just going to be starting very soon because I heard it's really fun and a lot of my friends play it. How much FPS do you think I'll get on CS:GO?

above 60fps is all u need to know as probably your monitor runs at 60hz. i have played csgo for a year with 1023 hours logged

No, the i5 4460 is more than enough for minecraft a ton and your school work (I get 60 fps plus with intel graphics 5100 and a low power processor) you are likely to get 160+ fps even with the i5 4460. Please don't get the 960 at this price, please.

Could you please elaborate some more? I still don't understand why I shouldn't buy the top i5 rather than the 4460 because a 960 is still pretty good. What's wrong with the 960 at that price?

Edit: Also you just listed the cheapest 970 one can get :P

First zotac isn't bad and the difference between the various 970 brands aren't great so don't worry about that. Second. Don't get the strongest i5 becuase you don't need it, its extra performance is not worth the loss of vRam at the 960 which will you need for future and current games more so than the i5 4690K. You can ask anyone in anyone in the forum whether to get the i5 4460 and a 970 or a i5 4690k and a 960, and trust me they will tell you to get the 970. Trust me you don't need a i5 4690K at this budget, completely not worth the loss of the 970.

Almost forgot, don't get the water cooler unless you want silence, as you can't overclock in a H97 board.

also minecraft isnt CPU or GPU heavy. its light on both. you can get easily 60+ fps on a i3 CPU so dont worry about the i5 4690k. im getting a pc for way higher CPU and GPU load than what your doing and a i5 4460 is PLENTY.

Also for GTA with very high/ ultra settings you would want a better GPU than a 960 defiantly a mid range 970
