Best SLI combination

Go to solution Solved by GrimNeo,

so im building a new rig, and im on a crossroad for the graphics, ive been looking at a 3way 970, 2way 980, or a 2way 980ti? all of these cards will be watercooled, and they will all run between the 1000 to 1200 ish range on price. The rest of the build is going to be an asus rampage v extreme, i7 5930k, 16gb ram, and a ax1200i. thanks for any help

2 way 980 Ti SLI for sure. Best of luck. What resolution are you playing at?

im looking at the new asus 1440p 144Hz ips panel, but my origional spec was for a 980ti 2way so im probably going to go with that and bite the price bullet

It is worth the price. I have the Asus ROG Swift TN 1440p 144Hz monitor. What games are you playing? I want to get an IPS 1440p 144Hz monitor as well. You will get great fps with that setup. At stock I get 130fps on Shadow of Mordor with HD Texture pack at 1440p. I love it. I have Titan X but I got it when it came out. You should get the same performance as me if you overclock the 980 Ti's as well.

5930K is useless get a 5820K and save 200$ it's the same thing with fewer PCI lanes you don't need 40 for what your doing.

yeah i forgot about that, i picked that processor cause of the 3way 970s

I don't have any those games yet because of surgery bill and a student loan. I should get really high fps. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-sli-faq,4079.html an article on SLI.

A 5820k can do triple 970's and m.2 drive honestly if people have the money to waste on a system that will need that many lanes, like if they want quad SLI, they should also have the money for a 5960X, honestly I am confused why the 5930K exists.
